Early Years Statutory Framework: Building on what works? Or changing the foundations?

The revised Early Years Framework comes into effect in September 2012.

It will have significant implications on how we plan for children’s learning, how we organise and deliver the curriculum and how we, with parents and other partners, undertake assessment.

Those of us passionate about child development have always looked to improve quality through applying latest research findings and forging partnerships with parents and other practitioners that work with children and families. The Early Years Framework empowers us to continue this, but has new prescriptions about how this works. In addition, there are new statutory assessments, different expectations of curriculum and fundamental shifts in how children's progress is evidenced and measured.

Pauline and George have a wealth of experience of all aspects of early years; learning, teaching, admin, staff, leadership, management are just a few of these areas. They are working with schools, early years’ settings, children’s centres and local authorities across the country, helping colleagues think through and plan the implementation of the new Early Years Statutory Framework. They will be delighted to share their practical and exciting ideas with you.

Our one day event offers you these insights into planning, developing the curriculum and undertaking assessment in line with the new Early Years Statutory Framework. You will also have the chance to meet, and share experiences, with colleagues and take away a plain English guide for implementing the Early Years Statutory Framework in your school, nursery or early years setting.

The cost of the event is £150 per person, including refreshments, lunch and VAT.

The events will be held at:

  • London - 5 December
  • Exeter - 6 December
  • London - 7 December
  • Leeds - 8 December

Each event will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm
