This large national disability charity with a long, well-established history was keen to ensure that with the changing environment – especially in relation to personalisation, choice and independence – its approach and structure continued to be fit-for-purpose.

Cordis Bright undertook a structural review for this charity. Our focus was on the effectiveness of accountability and line management responsibility within the organisation. The project involved face-to-face interviews and focus groups with senior managers, as well as a survey of several hundred staff. For reasons of accessibility, we used a variety of different methods to interact with people with sensory impairments. Our recommendations were presented to the corporate leadership board and trustees.

This national social care provider had an existing and well-regarded homecare service. Cordis Bright was commissioned to undertake a review of this service and make recommendations of how the service may need to change in light of personalisation.

For this project, we evaluated the organisation's business systems via desk based reviews and interviews with managers, as well as conducting face to face interviews with disabled people in their own homes. These interviews explored service users' preferred options for greater choice in their care, and especially the support needs disabled people may face as potential employers of their own carers. Our innovative recommendations captured the best of current practice whilst recognising the key drivers for change in service provision.

Our client had an opportunity to purchase an older people's residential home. We were asked to undertake an options appraisal to help inform their decision about whether to proceed with the purchase.

As part of this project, Cordis Bright: analysed demand for older people's residential care in the local area, undertook a detailed mapping exercise of local supply, and reviewed current and future commissioning intentions.
