Benchmarking

Cordis Bright's benchmarking service provides an annual comparison of subscribers' performance against peers. It is one of the longest-running benchmarking services in the sector. It:

  • Gathers and compares several hundred data points from subscribing clients, in areas such as finance, HR, corporate performance issues and satisfaction ratings
  • Analyses the data and produces reports for subscribers showing how their organisations are performing against peers
  • Provides each subscriber with a tailored, face-to-face management session, highlighting key findings and strategic implications

The benchmarking service is aimed mainly at organisations in the independent sector, across children's and adult services. Organisations sign up for a minimum of a year, although most continue their subscriptions for much longer.

Benchmarking Service Details

What's involved in the benchmarking service?

Benchmarking is a regular annual exercise that compares a wide range of performance data between subscriber organisations. It has been running for around nine years, making it one of the longest-running benchmarking services in the sector.

The benchmarking service is delivered in two parts:

  • A written report containing all the data and charts from the benchmarking exercise
  • A two-hour session for the senior management team with two Cordis Bright consultants. The consultants review clients' own results in more detail, analysing comparative performance and implications for management decisions. Our aim is to help subscribers to turn data into practical action

Who is it for?

The benchmarking service is for independent social care organisations and registered social landlords. The size of subscribing organisations varies from turnovers of around £4.5m to £60m.

The service is aimed primarily at chief executives, directors, senior management teams and performance management departments.

Why is it valuable?

The benchmarking service offers you:

  • Excellent value for money, comprising a comprehensive, 120 page report, plus four hours of consultancy time
  • A service which is targeted exclusively to the social care sector, and which benefits from a continuous work on indicators, and data presentation and interpretation
  • Critical mass: the number and size of subscribers to our benchmarking service means that we cover around one quarter of the social care bed space in England
