The public's expectations of services are rising. There is an increasing emphasis on "more and better for less". The performance of individuals, teams and units is increasingly under the spotlight.

Cordis Bright has extensive experience of helping organisations deliver performance improvement through a range of means including:

  • Coaching and mentoring for front-line practitioners, managers and leaders
  • Change management and modernising services
  • Advice on good practice and 'what works'
  • More focused and disciplined commissioning and procurement, and support to focus on priorities
  • Implementation of more robust performance management approaches
  • Divestment and exit strategies where appropriate

Performance turnaround

We also have a successful track record in performance turnaround. This is different from performance improvement in that it addresses the need for one or both of the following:

  • Radical change, e.g. to bring a service in line with new financial constraints, stakeholder expectations, or statutory requirements
  • A decision about service continuation, for example in response to changes in market requirements or the nature of competition

In some cases, our support is triggered by an external inspection or quality assessment. In others, there is no involvement by outside agencies and the work forms part of an organisation's own business streamlining exercise.

Inspection support

Any organisation subject to inspection knows how much work is involved in preparing for an inspection, how much effort goes into getting it right - and the human and financial cost of putting things right after a negative inspection.

The purpose of Cordis Bright's inspection support service is two-fold:

  • To help bring about overall improvement in services for the long term
  • To help our clients perform better in the context of inspections

Cordis Bright has a highly experienced inspection support team, a number of which are former inspectors. We are able to offer:

  • Pre-inspection support, e.g. help with self-assessment, service reviews, project management
  • Post-inspection support, with a focus on rebalancing priorities, resources, systems and skills, e.g. action planning, placement of our consultants with your management teams, coaching and mentoring, help to develop more effective working practices with partner agencies
