Mental health awareness
Our plans for Mental Health Awareness Week and beyond
Our Cordis Bright logo will look slightly different from 13th to 31st May. We are pleased to be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from 13th to 19th May. We will then be extending the observation internally until the end of May. The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is Movement.
Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event which aims to tackle stigma and help people understand and prioritise their and others' mental health.
At Cordis Bright, our work on the wider determinants of health and wellbeing means we understand the importance of movement, exercise and access to green space in supporting our mental health. We will be sharing a Pulse Special synthesising recent research and reports on movement and mental health, and a blog summarising what we know about how to overcome the barriers to movement that still exist for some demographics.
Internally, we have planned lots of fun opportunities to move together with our colleagues, getting out of the office and making the most of hidden talents across the team for yoga, running and rounders.
We also plan to use the observance as a springboard for discussing how we talk about and respond to mental health within our workplace, and how we can be as supportive as possible as managers, colleagues and friends.
If you have any thoughts or questions about this observance or on our research and evaluation on the topic of mental health, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Caitlin Hogan-Lloyd for more information.
