Effectively addressing domestic abuse
Resources from our recent workshop.
This recent workshop examined how children's services practice can effectively address domestic abuse. The sessions brought together experienced practitioners (from local authorities, service providers and the voluntary sector) and experts to explore the cross-cutting, complex and often high-risk issue of families affected by domestic abuse.
The workshop explored:
- Developments in policy, strategy and inspection frameworks in relation to domestic abuse and violence against women and girls.
- Original research undertaken by Cordis Bright on the strengths and gaps in children's social work practice, based on recent case file audits.
- Top-tips for improving practice in children's social work.
The interactive sessions also encouraged delegates to share their own experiences of working in children's services and 'what works' in addressing domestic abuse.
