Healthy Communities Together: Mapping the drivers of partnership working

Explore our system map.

As part of the national evaluation of the Healthy Communities Together (HCT) programme, a partnership between The National Lottery Community Fund and The King’s Fund, Cordis Bright have been working with five cross-sector partnerships to create a system map.

The map answers the following question:

"which factors help or hinder cross-sector partnership working?"

The below presentation introduces the system map and examines some of its key themes in more detail. It covers:

  1. What is the challenge with cross-sector partnership working, and how can systems thinking help?
  2. What is HCT and the evaluation?
  3. How did we use system mapping with the partnerships?
  4. Introducing the system map
  5. Three key themes
  6. What's been the value of system mapping?
  7. The ongoing role of the system maps in HCT and the evaluation

In the HCT evaluation, system mapping has been a valuable tool for examining the complexity of partnership working using systems thinking. We hope this presentation will be a helpful resource not only for people interested in cross-sector partnership working, but also for those considering using systems thinking in an evaluation.
