Webinar presentation: Tackling cuckooing together

Lunch and Learn webinar.

Cuckooing is an increasingly recognised form of exploitation, yet many organisations continue to face challenges in identifying risks and coordinating effective responses.

FitzRoy, KeyRing and Cordis Bright were delighted to be joined by 100 attendees for a Lunch & Learn webinar, exploring how organisations can work together to prevent and respond to cuckooing and related forms of exploitation affecting people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. We drew on learning from a white paper developed by FitzRoy and KeyRing in partnership with Cordis Bright.

The session examined:

  • How cuckooing presents in practice.
  • The factors that increase vulnerability to exploitation,.
  • The barriers that can limit effective intervention.
  • Practical actions and proposed solutions to strengthen prevention and multi-agency working.

FitzRoy and KeyRing are continuing the conversation and taking action by facilitating a Cuckooing Prevention Group. This is a shared learning network to support ongoing learning, resource development and collaboration across organisations. All organisations with an interest in tackling cuckooing together are welcome to join.

Join the Cuckooing Prevention Group by contacting diane.mee@fitzroy.org or tracy.hammond@keyring.org.

Both the webinar slides and the white paper are available to download below.
