Before joining Cordis Bright, Gemma worked at the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, where she project managed research into the perpetration of violence against women and girls, evaluations of programmes to reduce reoffending, and a strategic review of police offender management. Prior to this, she specialised in migration research at ODI Global, contributing to major international migration research programmes. She has also worked for the Institute for Research into International Migration and Superdiversity, the British Red Cross, and the Refugee Council, supporting frontline service delivery of the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme. She holds an LLB from Edinburgh University and an MSc in International Public Policy from UCL.Gemma’s skills include:

• Developing, managing and analysing surveys, including overseeing the implementation of an international large-N household survey, and analysis of large panel datasets.
• Designing, collecting and analysing qualitative data, including running semi-structured interviews and focus groups with vulnerable or marginalised groups including refugees, victims of stalking, community groups, and people in prison.
• Conducting several systematic literature reviews and in-depth/ strategic policy reviews.
• Designing and delivering evaluation methodologies, including quasi-experimental impact approaches.
