Rain holds a BSc in Psychology from University College Dublin and is completing her MSc in Applied Forensic Psychology with Placement from the University of Bath.
Rain’s previous work and research have focused on vulnerabilities in childhood, child protection, young people’s perceptions of risk and harm online and public perceptions of criminality and mental health. For her Master’s dissertation with the University of Bath, Rain worked on a qualitative project exploring young people’s understanding of consent and harm when using Generative AI to create sexual content.
Prior to joining Cordis Bright, Rain worked as a Research and Evaluation Assistant at the NSPCC. In this role, she designed and conducted mixed-methods research on children's wellbeing and child protection. This included supporting a two-strand study examining the prevalence of online blackmail in the United Kingdom, using surveys and focus groups co-designed with children and young people to explore their understanding of online blackmail, associated risk factors, and support needs.
Rain also contributed to evaluations of services supporting children and families, including programmes addressing problematic sexual behaviour, loneliness, and support for new parents. Her work involved analysing quantitative and qualitative data, interpreting outcome measures, incorporating practitioner perspectives, and contributing to reports that informed service development.
Earlier in her career, Rain was part of the Republic of Ireland's first national rollout of Education and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners across primary schools. She delivered evidence-based wellbeing and low-intensity CBT interventions for children aged 6–13, working collaboratively with teachers and educational psychologists to support a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.
