Cordis Bright worked collaboratively with the Local Government Association and a range of stakeholders to produce this guide. It contains ideas, tools, and approaches to help councillors manage and deliver performance management effectively.

In developing this guide, we undertook a review of evidence concerning effective performance management in councils and engaged directly with councillors and officers through workshops and focus groups. It is hoped that these guides will inspire councillors to think about new ways to approach performance management and ultimately to improve outcomes for citizens.
