Madeleine is a Consultant who provides research and evaluation services across a range of complex social issues. While she has particular expertise in criminal justice (especially youth justice), her portfolio also includes projects in health, place-based transformation and systems change.

Since joining Cordis Bright, Madeleine has led and supported evaluations aimed at reducing violence, improving partnership working, and improving outcomes for people, especially those at risk of offending or re-offending. These include high-profile studies commissioned by the Youth Endowment Fund, London’s Violence Reduction Unit and the Youth Justice Board.

Additionally, she has contributed to evaluations of programmes focusing on health and community transformation, such as the Midlands Engine Mental Health and Productivity Pilot, a systems analysis for children, young people and young adults with complex needs in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent and the development of a learning framework for Changing Futures in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Madeleine draws on her previous frontline experience in a commissioned rehabilitative service (CRS) to ensure her work is both evidence-based and grounded in practical realities.

Key areas of expertise include:

  • Designing and managing mixed-methods evaluations, including randomised control trials and qualitative studies.
  • Working collaboratively with clients such as the Youth Endowment Fund, London’s Violence Reduction Unit and the Youth Justice Board.
  • Translating data and insights into practical, results-focused recommendations.
  • Using a warm, collaborative approach to engage diverse groups of people, including service providers, commissioners and young people.
