Olivia has a first-class BSc in Psychology from the University of Sheffield and an MSc in Inequalities and Social Science from the University of Leeds. She has worked as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) for the largest domestic abuse charity in Yorkshire and as a research assistant and data collector.

Before joining Cordis Bright, Olivia completed her MSc in Inequalities and Social Science with a particular focus on research modules and poverty. Her dissertation was a qualitative study of the accessibility of public sector support for domestic abuse survivors’ post-separation to explore how support changes after leaving abusive relationships. Olivia worked as an IDVA for domestic abuse charity IDAS in North Yorkshire supporting individuals who have been subject to domestic abuse and sexual violence. She also supported with the writing of a scoping review into early identification of domestic abuse in healthcare settings and delivered training. As a research assistant for the University of Sheffield, Olivia supported with a systematic review into the home numeracy environment. She has also collected data for the EEF funded evaluations of the ParentChild+ Programme and Communication Friendly Settings.

Olivia’s skills include:

  • Undertaking comprehensive literature reviews and research reports
  • Completing research with vulnerable populations such as victims of domestic abuse
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Administering and scoring standardised assessments with preschool children including the British Picture Vocabulary Scale and Renfrew Action Picture Test.
